The Miami County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank you for your interest in our agency. We believe that our website will not only provide you with the most up-to-date information regarding our agency but give you a better understanding of how the sheriff’s office serves and protects the residents of Miami County.


As the chief law enforcement officer in the county, the sheriff is required by state law to perform four specific duties, including:
  • Serving civil and criminal process papers
  • Keeping the peace
  • Providing protection for county residents
  • Keeping those behind bars secure


The Miami County Sheriff’s Office currently employs two captains, one jail administrator, one executive assistant, nine sergeants, four detectives, eighteen sworn and nine part-time deputies, twenty-one deputy jailers and fourteen civilian employees.
