Finance

  • Finance provides the county with accounting expertise under the auspices of the County Administrator
  • A primary function is monitoring the financial operations of the county and keep management informed of the current county financial position in relation to the annual county budget
  • Routinely and upon special request provide financial analysis to the county commission and county administrator
  • Provide historical performance data and future financial projections to the board of commissioners for aiding in current decision making
  • Work with department directors and staff to provide accounting information as needed
  • Respond to open records financial information requests
  • Participates in developing the annual county budget for presentation to the county commission for approval and adoption
  • Initiate commission approved budgeted and non budgeted accounting entries in the county's financial system at the appropriate time
  • Responsible for monitoring capital improvement projects for funding placement and expenditure analysis
  • Over sight of the annual county audit
  • Point of contact for citizen/county incident reporting
